Just Today

wleaves

After almost two weeks of a glorious Indian Summer with temperatures touching 80 during the day and dipping into the mid 50's at night, rain has arrived.  It isn't unwelcome.

It is the kind of day that invites one to curl up on the couch with a good book and a pot of home made vegetable soup simmering on the stove.

Outside my window fallen leaves litter the ground and a lone geranium struggles to hang on to summer.  It's single white blossom a stark contrast to the yellows and oranges of the season.  I can't hear the soft melody of the wind chimes swaying in the breeze but I know the tune.

Tomorrow the sun is scheduled to return.  It too will be welcomed as there are still many projects to complete before the cold November winds begin to blow.

But today, just today,  I will stay indoors contentedly watching the rain fall and the soup simmer.
