And So It Began

And so it began....

with a running start and a big splash, our ten day adventure with the grand kids was set into motion.

It was a huge undertaking on our part.  Setting off with a six year old and a four your old on a 14 hour drive to south Florida without their parents in tow.  In the days leading up to the trip we questioned our sanity. What were we thinking?  But a promise is a promise and two young children were looking forward to splashing in the pool and jumping the waves on our white sand beach.

But these two are traveling super stars.  Seasoned travelers with miles of road dust accumulated beneath their car seats.  The drive both to and from went off without a hitch.  We watched hours of video, read books, created silly putty animals, made sticker cards for the world and sang silly songs.  The hours and the miles whizzed by.

Once safely ensconced at Camp Pappy Grammy south most of our time was spent in the pool.  With flippers for feet our two little fishies couldn't get enough.

Before two days were up the G-man shed his swimmies and experienced the exhilarating freedom that comes with learning to swim.

Miss A was an encouraging big sister with one eye firmly planted at all times on our fledgling swimmer.

We're thinking this could be the start of something big.

To be continued.....
